My Story

"All people deserve to be an active part in their health care, to know their options, and make choices best suited for their needs."-Andrea Moon, CPM
I first became interested in midwifery after my first two children were born. I was in my early 20s and was never given the information I needed to make informed choices. I never felt my ob/gyn was truly invested in what was best for me or my children.
As my children grew older I became drawn to birth work. I wanted to support others in the way I was not supported. I began training with local birth workers and received my doula certifications. I fell in love with homebirths and began my training in TN to become a CPM in my early 30s.
I began trying to conceive my next two children in my mid to late 30s. They were both born at home when I was 35 and 37. This fueled my passion even more to finish my midwifery training.
I received my Certified Midwifery Certification through NARM in 2019. I am currently located in Lawrence County TN and travel up to two hours.
When I'm not working, I enjoy being in nature, doing yoga, and spending time with my family.
(Fun fact: the baby on the home screen is one of my grandkids I caught at home!)
My Philosophy

I believe every person knows their body, their life, and their journey better than anyone else. I believe my job as a Midwife is to respect and support you on your journey.
In my 15 years of birth work, I have supported a very diverse community of parents. While my clients have a wide range of backgrounds and beliefs, every one has shared one truth; they want what is best for themselves and their baby. I root my practice in that truth.
I offer my full support, my experience, and my education to all of my clients. I will do everything in my power to make sure you have all the resources needed to make informed choices.
